鏡像神經元幫助我們學習、模仿事件與動作背後的意義，還有自我辨識的功能。也因此我們在看非洲國家紀錄片為飢餓小朋友感到同情、觀看侏儸紀世界電影會對恐龍產生恐懼、聽失戀的歌曲會心酸，甚至是課堂上老師給我們看的911影片會為主角緊張，都是因為鏡像神經元的緣故。

而我曾經在｢神經外科的黑色幽默｣其中一章節:學著不在喪禮哭泣，講述身為外科醫生時常要面對死亡的工作環境，在有風險的手術中需要親自面對生命的離開；而軍人在戰場殺敵時，也需要克服親手結束生命的恐懼；再來則是屠宰場的屠夫，他們在宰殺豬隻時，是否也需要越過心裡那道殺生門檻?

而教授說道，若是沒有感性的鏡像神經員與同理心，人們會變得理性，極度理性則會讓自己跟殺人機器一樣。所以我認為其實在社會中，很多很多人在工作時被強迫要壓抑自己的道德本能，這其實對於人的生理與心理應該都是很大的傷害吧!

Mirror neuron can help us learn, imitate and understand the meaning behind the action or behavior. And it can also have the ability of self-identify. Accordingly, we feel sympathetic when seeing the photo of hungry kids in Africa, feel horrible to the dinosaurs as watching the Jurassic World, crying when listening the break-up songs, and even being nervous when watching the video of 911 in this class. We have those emotions because of the mirror neuron.

While I have read a chapter called ‘’ learn no to cry in the funeral’’ in the book, when air hits your brain: tales of neurosurgery. It told the reader the condition of the medical environment that sometimes they must face the situation when patients died. Not only doctors, the army need to conquer the fear of killing enemy on the war as well. Furthermore, it perhaps without a doubt that butchers should cross the morality in mind when killing the pigs.

It is said by the professor that people would become extremely rational without the mirror neuron. Hence, I consider that those people who constraint there instinct of morality because of the jobs must be suffering!
